Ben's World

The Winter has Ben a bit long here and Ben is feeling a bit of cabin fever. the new shine is off both his sister and school and he is finding that he doesn't like to spend so much time with either. Recently he has been declaring "no school" when he wakes in the morning. the other day he set up a makeshift bed in the kitchen to catch more zzzz's while eating his breakfast before school. Here he is lounging.

He was so naughty after school the other day that I confined him to the living room for the afternoon until I received this note of apology. Yes, my heart melted. (That says "Mom, I am Sorry" in kindergarten spelling).

He's has some interesting question lately. Like:

Isn't Sarina old enough now to raise herself in the wild?

Are antelopes made of cantaloupe? Why not, they rhyme?

And this morning an odd question out of the blue. "What is that saxophone for babies that's not an instrument?" Huh!? "You know they suck on it. Its a saxaphier!" (Ummm, that would be a pacifier).

Thank goodness for warm weather. We are taking full advantage of it by playing after school and riding bikes. The other day we hit three parks in two hours. Unfortunately my bike had to go into the shop for repairs. It is creaking and groaning and I'm positive it is twice as hard to pedal as last year. I can barely get up the hill hauling those two behind me. Gee, I can't be getting old, must be the bike. I'm sure when we get it back we'll be whizzing merrily along without effort.

Poor boy! Due to our snow days, our school days have shifted up by 10 minutes, meaning we have even less time to get ready for school. I shifted up waking the kids up by 15 minutes, but for some reason (and despite the fact that Ethan gets up earlier than this on the weekends), the end result is he gets up with like 15 or 20 minutes to do everything: get dressed and eat breakfast. This morning he moved so slow that I threatened to have him go to bed earlier. We'll see if that even helps.

Yes, can't that girl raise herself in the wild now? Why not?

They are sure growing fast. I am sure the tune up will make the riding pulling the kids easier, It can not be your age because that would make me old. LOVE YA ALL.

Did you check the air in your tires? They get that winter compression thing. I pumped Ben's up after he lost to many races to Mathew. He was surprised how much faster he was.
