Is It Just Me?

Mark's Christmas Party at his new company is tonight and of course I have no clothes that fit me. I do not have one single festive semi formal sweater or top that doesn't hang off me so I thought I would go buy a new blouse for the season. I've been waiting to buy new clothes as I still harbor hope that I will lose ten more pounds although maintaining is taking all my energy at this point. but hey, maybe that running will pay off. I'm sure it would if I ran like I usually do in the morning instead of going shopping. Anyway, I went to Kohls as they are open early and they used to have nice clothes. Boy was that a mistake. Is it just me or are the clothes this season just damned ugly. Ugly colors, ugly shapes. What is going on?! Why have we returned to the fashions of the 70s and 80s! Give me the decades of the 30s to the 50s any day. Why must we look so drab. Those long sweaters are back and I honestly expect to go into the stores and start seeing shoulder pads again. Enough. Can we have something that is...god forbid...pretty. Or fun, like the 60s. What is up with browns and bruise-ish looking purples. As you may have guessed I did not find even one blouse that could qualify as festive (ok, I could have gotten something with a reindeer on it. There was plenty of old lady festive but I don't think so. Not yet anyway.). I did however find three pairs of pants.

In other news Ben goaded me into making cookies last night and although they were wonderful chocolate chip cookies I only ate one. This is the strange thing. I could not talk myself into eating more than one. I was all like...those would really taste good with coffee ice cream I have in the freezer...and my body said ummmm...no thank you. I don't want one. My body literally felt like, hey lady give me a break. I ran this morning and I'm feeling all healthy and YOU want to eat a cookie. Are you nuts. I packed them up and put them in the cupboard and even though I did not run today I still cannot convince my body it wants one. Not after it fi t into that small size of pants. No way. Humpffff...guess I'll have to have a healthy snack. Exercise is ruining my life. Sometimes I have so much energy after running I can't sit down. I find myself cleaning the house. I must be channelling sister #2 again. Now I understand why her house is so damn clean.

I TOTALLY relate to the ugly "fashion" trend!!! I've been looking for a decent dress pattern and wondering what fool bought these horrible 60s/70s/80s retro designs! My favorite was one that was gathered at the hem and the neckline, making the skinny model look like a Christmas cracker! Then there were these ugly baby doll dresses and weird drapey things. Who do they think this stuff looks good on?? Same thing with jackets. They have these weird little cape things that remind me of a maternity top from I Love Lucy or something. Emperor's New Clothes much?!?

Well, bad time for a new wardrobe, but kudos at needing it!! Better hurry, though: the spring clothes will be coming out in just a few weeks, believe it or not...

How was the party and what did you find to wear?

The party was ok. It was at a bar with bar food. Nothing exciting. The new people seem nice. Couldn't talk too much as the music kept getting louder.

I wore a sweater I had that was plain but could be dressed up. I'm going to have to find somewhere to shop that whas nice clothes.

Ahhh your body can now on only take so much crap before IT says ENOUGH! That's good....your body is rejecting the sugar load.
You must be running long enough to experience the "endorphins" that kick in with longer aerobic exercise. Feels good don't it! NOW you know why I loved to run so much.
CLEAN HOUSE! not anymore I'm addicted to Zumba.....I Zumba all day everyday (just kidding). I am however starting to dread having a second house. Who the heck needs 6 (3 here, 3 there) toilets to clean? AHHHHH

Unfortunatly yesterday, after three days of no workout, my body decided it wanted lots of chocolate. Nipped that in the bud today by getting back on the old mill. Actually my body feels much better after a run. I now know what people mean when they say they feel unexercised. Bummer.
