Two things have happened that I thought would never happen. The first is truly amazing. Ben has actually grown out of the waist of his pants before they are too short for him. I really thought I would never see the day. Granted they are slims and he is almost too tall for them now. The boy is eating like a champion now. Ok, not vegetables but he is branching out.
The other miracle is that...drum roll please...I actually ran five solid minutes on the treadmill today! Hurrah. And I did not collapse as I thought I would. In fact I think I could have run longer but thought I would stop while I was ahead. Hopefully I can increase my time and be street ready by Spring. For those of you that truly know me you know that I am not nor have I ever been a runner. I've never even aspired to be a runner. One question though. Why is that I run and walk at the same pace on the treadmill yet I feel way more winded and sweaty when I run. I don't up the pace! What's up with that? I am walking at a much more accelerated pace now. Sarina and I have been going to the gym every morning. She does great and they love her there. She introduces herself to all the children and plays with the babies. Oh she loves babies. Mostly she loves all their stuff. For Christmas she would love an infant car seat with toys attached I think.

So for some reason (and this happens on a treadmill) your stride is the same (length) walking & running. BUT when you run, your arms pump faster and your knees raise higher SO your heart rate gets higher AND you sweat more.
I PROMISE NOT TO COACH YOU AS A RUNNER...but you'll be getting that endorphin high and running races soon ;-)
