Hello From the Sick Ward

Ben is slowly getting better. He has two breathing treatments and antibiotics to take every day plus Motrin when the fever comes back. He has not been very happy about that but he is coping. He most definately does not like taking medicine in the middle of the night. Oy vey what a fight that was. For the most part he is being a champ. He is also getting a little bit of his energy back and so has the energy to fight with his sister over what tv shows to watch. That would be whichever one she does not want to watch. I also made the mistake of getting him balloons but not her. What was I thinking. He cut the strings on them so she couldn't reach them. I picked her up one at the store today.

Right now all are sleeping including Mark. He seems to have caught something from the children's ward when he stayed over. Poor Dad. He's been a champ too but he's exhausted now. Since Mark is sick he's home so I've been able to get out with Sarina. She would prefer to lay around and pretend to be sick but I dragged her to story time today. Ben is pretty much camped on the foldout couch in the family room. He has the breakfast tray next to him and is so lucky he gets to eat and drink in the family room. Sarina stumbled up the stairs yesterday holding her head and asking for yogie (yogurt) which Ben had. I said sure come sit at the table but she declared "I sick. I sick. Yogie downstairs Mommy!" Nice try but NO! Mean Mommy.

So for now Ben is healing but still coughing and wheezing a bit. I'm hoping he'll be able to make it to school by Monday. Not sure really at this point. Of course we are having nice weather this weekend but we will be stuck inside. I rented a bunch of movies today to entertain him. He is ready to get up and jump around but I don't like how he sounds when he does so we are trying to keep him confined to the couch and he still has not really gotten a good nights sleep all week. Hence the nap today.
