Rumors
I'm sure you've all been anxiously awaiting the results of the weight loss contest. Well, so far no results but the rumors are flying. The inside information is that Clyde has won. Hmmmm....fine. Great! I'm a big enough HUMAN to be glad for Clyde on his new healthy weight. I don't think anyone would think it sour grapes if I said that no matter how much weight Clyde loses he'll never look good in a swim suit. Just an observation. I"m sure he would be the first to admit that. That said, I hope the unsubstantiated rumors of Clyde's bulimia will not mar his win. I know it is just hearsay. Some perhaps disgruntled contestant may have said it in a moment of disappointment (like on the phone last night with another contestant). Far be it for me to spread rumors. I just wanted to give you all a heads up that rumors are out there. I just report what I hear. Of course nothing is final yet. I just wanted to let Clyde know that I support him no matter what the ugly rumors may be. It's hard to be in the public spotlight. Unfortunately there are going to be those who are willing to say and think the worst about those who are winners. Accusations of the use of performance enhancements are all to often made in our society without any evidence. A reputation can be stained simply by whispers in an age when information can travel the Internet tubes so quickly. There's no accountability on these so called "blogs". Any yahoo can print what they want with immunity. Gee, I hope that we don't see any of that ugliness here.

bulimia: An abnormal and constant craving for food. A great hunger.
Rumor is no longer unsustantiated. It's true. Clyde does have a great and constant craving for food!
OBTW, I wouldn't cede the contest to Clyde so quickly. He gained weight the final two weeks of the contest ... that darn bulimia!!
And he's's anxiously awaiting the official results as I promised him lots of high calorie treats if he won.
I am still having difficulty with the Dog counting ( unless he dosen't know he is a dog)
Love ya mom
"I'm still having difficulty with the dog counting ..."
I guess I don't understand why it's bothering you? It was just a stupid little contest to help people stick to their diets.
My objective in entering Clyde was to give me some motivation to help my very fat overweight dog lose some weight. The fact that he may (or may not have) won is really incidental .. and not all that important.
Clearly you and Charyn think the dog should not count, so I'm removing him from consideration. No big deal.
It was fun for a while.
I was still having fun. I assumed because my dogs do not know they are dogs neither did Clyde.
Clyde is NOT a dog. He is a trusted and much loved family member. Although there is much less of him to love now. And that was truly my only concern. He's been a tough competitor who inspired me to greater weight loss. I wish him luck in the contest. It's not about winning Clyde, it's about being happy with your body.
Happiness is a nice piece of liver sausage... If I were a dog.
Ahhhhh but to see Clyde in a speedo!!! Go boy Go!!!
A family that looses together, well growels (tummy) together ;-)
Musing's dogs are "nurotic" meanies that pick on bigger "Labrodoodles" that are innocent and silly. They stay thin because they're "nervous". Let's all be like Cookie and chase a silly ball all day to stay thin, or does his Mommy chase the ball?(like Mikey! and Sammi)
Love to all

On at least three seperate comments here you've questioned whether it was fair for Charyn to be competing against a dog. To be honest, I never really thought about whether it was fair to enter Clyde or not. I just thought it might be fun, and a good way to motivate me to keep Clyde on a diet. So I asked my sister (who started and is managing the contest) if it would be alright to enter the dog. She said sure, ‘Enter him’.
Anyway, as I said, I never really stopped to think if it was fair or not; and as there is a small cash prize involved for the winner, having a fair contest is pretty important.
Though I still haven’t given it much thought (and don’t intend to either), seems to me that if one person (even one not directly involved in the contest) thinks it may not be fair … then it might not be. So I pulled him from the contest. Not a big deal. Neither Clyde nor myself are going to lose any sleep over it.

Ah, the answer trusted and loved family members should always count.
*climbs on soapbox, tongue in cheek*
Clyde, don't let this Smear Campaign the opposing candidate is running get you to drop out! This is what they want.
Did Michael Phelps quit when the media said he was "no Mark Spitz?" NO!
Did John McCain quit when his conservative base labeled him a "liberal?" NO!
Clearly, you have them running scared and that's why they've resorted to the attack ads. Take the high ground, Clyde, and beat them on the issues! All's fair in diets and war!
