The number one myth buster for me was :the boobs are the first to go. Not true unfortunately. No, the first to go is your neck fat so you get what is fondly called turkey neck. Also I have found that weight loss does not lift and seperate. No I think the loss of fat equals more sagging. Fat tends to plumb you up. Of course this may be different in your twenties but not so in your late 40s.
Another home truth is: Just because a bathing suit "fits" does not mean you should wear it. Yes, I went on the dreaded bathing suit hunt. I settled on a men's trunk and a woman's size top. Why are women's bathing suits so bad. Men get nice length in the legs. Really, woman over 40 do not want to show the tops of their thighs. Nor should they. Or their belly buttons. Especially that area just below the belly button. Ok, lets just say that any area from the belly button to the mid thigh should be covered. And why do men's trunks have pockets but not women's? I like the pockets. Don't tell me to try one of those bathing skirts. The skirt part floats on top of the water and no one wants to see me bend over in one of those. Trust me on this one.

OMG! You crack me up and depress me all at the same time!!! Too true. The main benefit of not losing weight is not seeing the effects of time and gravity so much. There are reasons I try to avoid mirrors and make myself as invisible as I can!
What sort of help, if you do it in the right spirit, IS to go to a place where people who shouldn't appear in public in swim suits DO appear in swim suits. Take note of those "braver" than you. Note especially the men, who, god love them, bare quite a lot when they really shouldn't.
And on that note, you will be happy to know that Kyra and I banded together and bullied/shamed Jason into buying swim shorts to replace his speedo, so you won't have to deal with that view this year...
you'ar right I think I shall opt for mens swim shorts and a top from now now.
we had a great time with the kids on the 4th and of course you and mark.
Come to think of it, the Muslim's may have something with their "Burkhini": have you seen it?
