I have not been posting much of late and that is because we are enjoying the most glorious of weather. It has been absolutely beautiful out. In a burst of energy that I have not really experienced before in my life, I have been cleaning the basement and hauling things off to my friend's house who is having a garage sale. Bless her! I've gotten rid of so much stuff! It is liberating to say the least. My hope is to clean out the basement so the kids can play down there this winter. I hope I don't run out of steam. I'm also organising the kid's clothes for the winter and getting rid of stuff they've out grown. Sarina has stuff waiting in boxes for her to grow but Ben has almost no winter clothes that fit him. He is discovering fashion and asked me to take him to the mall tonight to get shirts. Fashion to him is glow-in-the-dark dinosaur shirts. Everyday we must look for a 'cool" shirt to wear to school.
He is into being cool now. He thinks it is cool for Molly to come to school to pick him up. All the kids crowd around to pet her. He likes to give instructions and yesterday suggested they all form a nice line to pet the dog rather then crowding her. So far he has not mentioned any friends in his class but we have made some friends after school that we play with. We even had dinner the other night with one girl that alternates between his arch enemy and his best friend all in the space of about an hour. Actually several times in the hour if truth be told. After dinner he declared he wanted to "unfriend" her as she was the rudest girl he had ever met.
We'll see if they are friends today as she invited us for a play date after school. I hope they are because I really like her mom and I want her to go to the gym for a play date with me.
As to my weight loss I'm rather stuck. No loss but no gain (despite the cinnamon roll the other day). Oh dear. I guess it is time for a push so I took Sarina to my gym this week to get her used to the kids play area. She really liked it but got a little sniffly when I left for a few minutes to test her. I think one or two more times and she won't care at all. The staff is wonderful and they have a SLIDE. How she loves slides.

It would seem if you give the girl a sucker, water and a slide she is set for life.
Nice to have an easy to please child once in a while.
After hearing so much about your experiences with Ben and Sarina, and knowing how Anthony is much more difficult than Adrianna (such a Momma's boy), I am now starting to hope we get a little girl to adopt. They do seem much easier when they are little. But, on the other hand, we'll see how the pubescent and teenage years go, won't we? Then again, Denise's boys are easier than Gianna who is now extremely persistant in getting her way. And Susie's Lexi is about to drive her mother insane with her pre-puberty-ness. But, Samantha Ann has been a responsible, easy to get along with teenager, whereas her father was a real pain in the butt as a teen. Hmm...I think the jury in my mind is still out over whether boys or girls are easier.
Snd tomatoes. Don't forget those.
It all comes down to personality really doesn't it. It' snot like Sarina can't pitch a fit and she still shrieks but less so everyday.
Now Sammi Marie is the perfect example of happiness being hereditary or she get the happiness gene. I swear NOTHING gets that girl down for long. Oh she can get upset but it passes rather quickly. You know when Mikey has a girlfriend because he's really happy then ;-0
I think both Mikey & Sammi were/are really good kids because of GreenTree school. I know I always wondered "How is this gonna pan out in their later years?". They had to share/pay attention/listen and generaly behave because of the situation. There was NO acting out allowed. They do well in a classroom now because they grewup in one. I hate to say this but they only had/have fits if they are tired or hungry (like their Mommy)!
