My Butt Hurts

I've been stepping up my exercise lately in an effort to take off more weight before the winter sets in and I can't get out as much. I've been riding Ben to school on the tandem bike, even in the rain. Then I walk to pick him up I also ride Sarina around when I can in the bike trailer to the library and grocery store. Today I rode Ben on the tandem and pulled the bike trailer so we could pickup stuff for his lunches. All I have gotten from all this activity is an aching bottom, tired legs and stiff knees. I've lost one lousy pound and I have only gotten one complement in weeks on my weight loss. Major bummer. Is it all worth it? I thought exercise was supposed to make you feel better!

Later:

Ok, now that I've had my bike ride for the day I'm feeling better. but when I had a meeting this morning that went for four hours I could barely walk when I got up from the chair. It was embarressing! What do I need to do to feel better in the morning when I get up? That is the question. Why do I have to exercise so much to work the stiffness out? I hate that. God forbid I should miss a day, it's like I've never exercised before in my life!

Back in the day when I exercised regularly, I would not be stiff if I did the same type of exercise. If I tried something different, that's when I'd get stiff and achy. And I think pretty much anytime you sit around for 4 hours straight you will be stiff getting up. It's unfortunately life at our age. Waah I say!

When I was throughhiking the AT, I found that 400 mg of vitamin "I" (Ibuprofen) first thing in the morning worked wonders.

I have been exercising for about a year now and the only remedy is Vita I.

The P.T. told me to ice the muscles and that would help with the stiffness. She said you can feel the heat from the muscles you used and need to cool them down.
