Sarina's first party was a big success. A good time was had by both two year olds. You can fit in a lot of activities in a short time with two year olds. They played play-doh, danced, jumped on the couch, made cookies and rocked on the rocking horse while building with legos and making music. Sarina refused to wear her costume so Ariana wore her fairy costume under Sarina's park monster costume. Sarina was not interested in wearing the fairy wings to Ariana's costume either. Sigh, seems she will follow in the footsteps of her brother when it comes to Halloween.
I have to work on Halloween night so we are planning a Fall festival party for the next day with the neighbors. We plan on having a parade and games. Plus lots of good treats. Should be a good time I think. Mark will get to take them trick or treating on Halloween. We still have not exactly figured out Ben's pumpkin costume. I bought a pumpkin trash bag and we will need to stuff it somehow and get it closed up while hopefully still allowing the boy to walk and use his arms. Mark will get the job of dressing him. I hope to convince Sarina to try on costumes before next week in the hopes she will pick one she will wear. We have lots of rejects from Ben to choose from.
Ben has off school three days next week and then on the following Monday. What is up with this school district. I really need to talk with that board. How could they approve this?! What were they thinking. Now I have to entertain that child for 4 days! Yikes! Really throws my schedule off. We are planning an art party for one day. Sarina also has her readoption next Wednesday. that is just a formality for Wisconsin. She is legally adopted already but for taxes here we have to readopt. It's a good thing as she gets a birth certificate on record here. No need to send off to Nepal if one is needed.
