My Pitiful Lament

So I've lost 40-45 lbs, depending on the time of day and day of week and I've been maintaining pretty well despite playing a dangerous game of seeing just how much I can eat. I've been quite lose with my diet rules, such as enjoying coffee with cream and chai teas at the bookstore. Ok, and yes, ice cream twice during the week! This is a very bad game I am playing but so far I have not regained. Knock wood. However, as the weather turns colder I am discovering that I have only two pairs of long pants that can even pass for fitting me. They look like clown pants and oddly are very uncomfortable to wear. So yesterday I took a trip to the Super Target to try on pants and might I just say that Target has some of the cheapest made ugly clothes I have ever seen in my life. I did find a pair of exercise pants that fit me in ( and I could not believe this)...MEDIUM! OMG! I haven't worn a medium in years, decades I think. Very exciting. However, I think I am right on the cusp of pant sizes. Should I go tight thinking I will lose more or recognize for this winter anyway my goal may be to only maintain. My bike riding has been curtailed between rainy days and windy days. I think we had to take the car twice in the mornings this week and I drove to pick up twice too. So my exercise is declining while my appetite is increasing. Not a good thing. I really should be heading back to the gym next week.

UPDATE:

Went shopping for pants and decided to get the smaller size. I look Fantastic. Not to toot my own horn or anything. I'm still not in my target size but only one size off. Not bad really. I think 10 more pounds should do it. Oh dear, do I go for it. I was so looking forward to ice cream tonight! But then I have to take Sarina with me to take Ben to school tomorrow so I could pull my bike trailer train. That should burn that ice cream sundae right off.

I am feeling guilty for teaching you that ice cream is one of the most needed food groups.
Sorry.

CONGRATS! Way to go! Hoooray! Good for you! *jumping up and down clapping her hands excitedly*

Damn Carl is only 2 pounds from his goal weight of 175!! He has almost no clothes that fit except his UPS uniforms, which just barely stay on him now.

It's hard not having clothes that fit, especially this time of year. My flannel jammie bottoms fall right to the floor when I put them on and a wind blows up my coat because it is too loose. I should have set aside a budget when I decided to lose weight. I have to replace all my clothes. Even my shoes are loose! What's up with that. Did I have fat feet too?! Why didn't anyone say anything about how fat my feet were?

Oh, congrats to Carl on nearing his goal. What a great job he has done. He is truly an inspiration to me even if I still eat cake and ice cream.

I told Carl this morning that he looks like he mugged a homeless guy when he wears his shop clothes now. They just hang off him. Even his coats hang funny.

I went down a half shoe size, too, when I lost the weight 5 years ago. it's neat, isn't it?
