Ever since we started this oddessy of adoption one burning question has remained unanswered--What is the one book I should take on the plane with me? Recently I thought I had settled on "What is the What" by Dave Eggers but now I am not so sure. Will it be too intense for the plane. You see, the plane is a delicate balance. I need something that is engrossing but I can't have too much tension as it carries over into my environment and makes me feel, well tense, which I will be anyway. So you see, it is a delicate balance--engrossing but not too. And it definately should not be morbid. Some death is ok but not carnage.
I just read a really great book called "As Simple as Snow" and I wish I had saved it for the plane. It was a little more than a day read and highly entertaining. Plus I'm still wondering about the ending. Sort of a did she or didn't she ending. Room for hope there. Which is good. I always need room for hope when I'm on plane.
So one other thought I had was "PS, i Love You." I know, silly tragicomedy out now in Theaters. I've not seen it but I thought it could be a diversion on the plane. Any thoughts anyone?
