Stormy Weather
Oh, the excitement we've had here. The sky was dark and rumbling most of the day. At dinner time the tornado siren went off so I grabbed the kids up from dinner and shuttled them into the basement along with the dog. In fact the dog may have led the group as she is a big coward. Once in the basement I realized that I had no information source down there so I made some phone calls. The neighbor was tracking the storm and said the worst would not be to us for another 20 minutes so I thought we should finish dinner. Up we came just in time for Sarina to Ahchee. I took her up to change her and the storm started to whip up and really got loud. Of course she had to be completely changed from head to toe. As I was cleaning her the neighbor called to say there was a tornado on the ground and could they come to our basement. Sarina was screaming because I was yanking her clothes off as fast as I could and Ben was hopping around demanding information on the twister that was coming. He kept proclaiming he saw "low hanging clouds and funnels!" Damn those educational programs anyway. So we all headed back to the basement with the neighbors. Ben thought it was great fun. All his old toys are in the basement so a great discovery time as to what Mommy has hidden away down there. We spent about 20 minutes in the basement while the storm rained and thundered, then Mark called to say that the storm was headed east of us. Up we came with no harm done. Monitored the weather for a few hours but nothing materialized for us. Although I think the excitement kept the kids riled all night. Sarina was a little whirling tornado all on her own. That girl could not settle down and I thought we would have another night of her up all night. She still does not sleep though the night and at least once a week she gets in the mood to play from about 1am to 3am. Not my best time of the day. Glad that is over and I hope we don't have to go into the basement again soon. The tornado season may be bad this year though. I have not read the news as to damages but Mark was stuck in traffic getting to work because they closed the highway from Madison all the way to the Dells. I should see what is up with that. One of the lakes in the Dells completely drained this week, taking a highway with it, and they have had bad flooding up that way. We have a very soggy yard but no flooding. In a few days we will have a very buggy yard no doubt. What a great summer.

Glad you are all ok. love ya
Glad your OK I've been worried. We had one heck of a lighting show here on Saturday WOW the thunder was really loud. That 90+ weather has left us we are in the 80's now typical VA summer. Lucky we are getting nice rain this year...sorry your flooding but it's been great for us. My vegie garden is awesome this year I'm sure to get lots of cantalope again this year. Beans are flowering so are cucumbers. Got green tomatoes too. I love my upside down tomatoe planter HIGHLY recommend it. Mikey & Sammi are back this Saturday staying thru the 4th
Haven't forgotten Ben's bday just need to send the gift
LOVE YA
Very scary. I remember tornado warnings in Chicago, although they were never "go in your basement" level (and that would have been hard when we lived in that high-rise).
Are you sure you didn't blow away? you haven't posted in a while.
