Sarina has been growing her language now over time. Some words she picks up quickly. Like Molly. She said Molly the first time she heard us call Molly and she says it all day long. She loves Molly. She says other words, 'anana and ice tea. But some words she just has a mental block with, such as, water. She will point and scream but she will not say "water" or even "panni" the nepali word. Not even if I hold the cup in front of her and say "water" over and over again. No she won't say it. I point to the cup and say water and she points and screams until I give up and hand over the cup. And for a girl who loves to eat she will not utter one word that might indicate that she might be hungry. Not food, eat, bite or khanes (the Nepali word). Nothing. Just screams and pointing. Today we had a breakthrough where she went to her chair and pointed that she wanted in it. And then she screamed when I asked her "eat?"
Oh and the great thing about all this...Ben loves to imitate her. So I get two lovely children pointing and screaming. Of course, once he doesnt' get anywhere he will speak but not her. No, for her screaming and pointing is the way to go.
