That Damn Carl Diet One Week Weigh-in

Let me first start by saying that this blog and diet is not about Carl. It is not the "We love Carl Cheerleaders" blog. No, it is about me. So keep those "way to go Carl's" to yourself. Carl can get his own damn blog and call it the "That Damn Carl" blog if he wants cheers and accolades.

That said, I can report that I've finished one week of the planned diet, which involves heavy cursing of Carl whenever I am denied food because I remember that he would not eat it. This week includes memorable moments of measuring a single serving of pea pods and me wondering what exactly is a serving of cherry tomatoes. Damn that Carl! I damn him every time I read the serving information on a box. And again when I want to mindlessly eat something, which is a good portion of the day.

One way I've cut back is to stop being a garbage disposal for the children. Sarina doesn't finish her cheese stick and hands it back to me, in the trash it goes. Ditto on crackers. Never realized how much food I consume that way. Before I used to mindlessly pop it into my mouth rather than walk to the garbage can. Thereby acting as a human garbage can. My results so far--possibly 1 pounds, maybe 1.5. It's hard to tell as the children use the scale as a trampoline for some reason and I have to reset the zero when I weigh. The best result--I survived fairly intact without losing my mind even though I only got one piece of cake this week and no ice cream.

We went to the lamb farm today and then out to McDonald's with the Mom's club today. Sarina was very cute with the baby lambs but rather timid. She kept calling them Molly and yelling Molly at them. She would not touch them but would try to get close to the fence until one came over and then she would run away. She did like the pigs and for some reason insisted on staring at the chickens for a prolonged period of time. She would not however pet the bunnies or the baby chicks. I think this visit marks my fourth visit to the lamb farm.

At McDonalds that Damn Carl haunted me again and I got to eat only the yogurt parfait and I don't like the strawberries in it so only got half really. No finishing the kids french fries and they always eat all their apples so I was really hungry when we left. Had to drive all the way home hungry and put Sarina down for her nap before measuring out my three crackers to go with my laughing cow low-fat cheese (damn you Carl, thanks for the tip). Then I had one bowl of chicken rice soup with extra rice.

Let me interrupt our regularly scheduled blog to report that HOLY CRAP it is snowing here!

Back to my diet. I also got a single handful of cherry tomatoes. Let me also say that Yes, I do know that McD's has salad. They taste like CRAP! I wish we could eat at Culvers so I can get a decent salad or soup but they don't have a playland. Why is that?! Damn them and Damn Carl. I"m really grouchy now as this is my mindless snacking portion of the day and I can't do that anymore so I'm going to curse Carl instead. Damn, Damn, Damn!

McDonalds salads; try the grilled chicken wrap no dressing or the grilled chicken sandwich with half the bun or no bun. Too much sugar in those yogurts. DO NOT EAT ANYTHING THAT HAS MORE THAN 5g sugar per serving. This is my hard and fast rule! Also PROTIEN very important (but you know this) eat low calorie high BULK foods to stay full longer, like whole grains and fruit and vegies. Eat healthy snacks DO NOT GO TOO long hungry! Your body will start to break down muscle if it thinks your starving...remember "Oxegyn BURNS FAT....breath!!! Damn girl JOG up those stairs.
