What Day Is It?

Oh yeah, April Fool's Day or otherwise known as my wedding anniversary. To celebrate I intooduced myself to my husband this morning, reminding him of my name. Surprisingly, it's not easy to have couple time when you are in a hotel room with your entire family. Hmmmm...go figure. My loving husband gifted me with some bangles he bought on the sly while in Kathmandu and I gave him a hat I got for free from a merchant who no doubt spontaneously gave it to me for grossly overpaying in his shop. And so we celebrated 13 happy blissful years together. I"m sure we will spend some time together over the next year or so. Maybe.

Today was also the day that Ben went back to school. He of course did not want to go. I thought 6 weeks off would make him a little eager to go but no. He said he would see his friends somewhere else. He did see his friend Sammy yesterday. Everyday while in Nepal he almost cried from missing Sammy. Then they see each other and its like "oh, hi." Like no time has passed since the last time they saw each other. Sammy was equally unimpressed with Ben's new sister who Ben proudly showed off.

Ben was excited to introduce his sister to his friends and he had me introduce her and then he would make comments like "she falls asleep if you touch her" and "she always likes to sit on the stairs at the hotel." I found it rather endearing and sweet but few people actually heard his comments as he tends to hide behind my back and talk. Although his teacher heard the sleep comment and asked him if she touched her would she fall right to sleep. NO, I know that from experience.

I've been working on Sarina's sleep problem. I've been giving her a bottle before bed and that seems to really calm her. All of the children we met were still on bottles, some were only on formula when they well were over a year old. I mistakenly thought since she was two she would be off bottles so I didn't bring any. Anyway, she is sleeping longer and when she wakes in the night I offer her the bottle and she puts it in her mouth but doesn't drink it, rather she chews on the nipple a little and rolls it around in her mouth contentedly. Last night I tried putting water in the bottle being worried about her teeth but she took it out of her mouth and handed it back to me. Now she sleeps till morning when she wants another bottle.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and may the adventures continue!!! Sounds like your moving into real time and enjoying the moments. Please tell Ben I said "HI" and hear him singing often. Please hug Sarina for me and tell her, "Your eyes are like the sunshine." ...The sun came up and smiled at me....Love to all, Glo

Happy Anniversary!

Ben's behaving like a typical 4 year old. Clay never wants to go to school and then when I go back to get him in the afternoon, he doesn't want to leave. We are working on being a "big boy" for real school in the fall. He's like his brother Mikey. Never wants to go anywhere. Then when you get there, he doesn't want to leave. Go figure.
Mikey loved his BA....Sammi loved her thumb (I think she's given that up by now), Clay it was the pacifier. They ALL still have thier "blankies" (shhh don't tell anyone. Mikey doesn't sleep with his BUT he still has it. Sammi still sleeps with hers. I told her I'll have to sew it into her wedding dress.

We are stuck in Hawaii. First we had problems with Aloha airlines going bankrupt and now we have problems with United Airlines not passing some type of inspection. Anyway, they put us up in a hotel in Wiakiki for 2 days. So here we are, stuck in paradise.
Glad to hear things are going well for all of you.....and HAPPY ANIVERSARY!!

Love ya,
Cheryl
