The Sun Came Up and Smiled at Me...

It's the best day ever. This is the song that Ben sings repeatedly. There are variations. Like this morning it went something like:

The Sun came up and smiled at me
The Baby had ahchee in her pants
It' s the best day ever

This, followed by squeels of joyful laughter because he got to sing about pooh as "ahcee" means pooh in Nepali. Sarina woke up with a full load and was laying in her bed singing "achee, achee" to which I replied "Oh gee, not again!" She has been filling her pants regularly since we got home and began expanding her dietary choices. It's gotten so bad that we only had 7 diapers last night and I thought maybe I should do a diaper run. Please tell me she isn't allergic to soy milk. That would be bad!

Aside from the diaper issues we are doing pretty well. Sarina is so easy to be around. She is a two year old but she is more willing to entertain herself then Ben ever was. I can do some work and she putters around coming by for a hug every once in a while and then going on her way again. It is quite nice. She does well in the car seat and we took the bike carrier to pick up Ben today. I didn't strap her in (bad Mommy) as we were just going up the hill. She was whining and fussing and I was conjoling her. Finally I stopped to look in the carrier and she was almost upside down on the floor with her hat over her face. I felt so bad but she wasnt' crying just more fussing then anything else. Oh well.

Did our first grocery shopping today. She went right into the cart and was doing fine as we shopped around. Finally I guess she got tired because she began throwing things out of the cart. She can be a little stinker. And she knows it. She likes to run and hide when I call her. Oh that is so funny. Especially if she has ahchee pants. She is also testing me by touching things that I tell her not to. Just little touches like "can I touch it this much?" Plus she loves to push things so she is scooting my ottaman around, the kitchen chairs and her rocking chair. Aiee, it drives me crazy. Maybe I should buy her something to push.

Yes, get her a mini grocery cart. Ethan always seemed to gravitate to those. Better yet, or not (since it requires supervision), go to stores with mini carts and let her push them around. I still tend to want to contain Ethan in a cart, so I wouldnt blame you for not letting her push the cart. Toy strollers are cute too, however you might want to forbid it upstairs--I could see all kinds of possibilites for projectiles...
