Help!! Rain in the Forecast

OMG, there is a 70% chance of rain on Friday and I have 15 children coming to my house with their bikes for a bday party for Ben. What do I do if it's raining? I have hot potato. That's it! I need easy in-door games with no running or screaming. Plus my dog is puking all over my house. I assume that will stop by Friday. Just threw that in as she just puked again.

I should note here that this is Ben's third annual "Bikes, Balls and Bubbles" birthday party. The last two years have been awesome. Our goal is to have the biggest bubble party ever! We've had great weather in the past and the moms stayed and helped out while the kids had bike races on the cul de sac. Really the kids are thrilled that they get to ride their bikes on the street. Most kids are confined to the driveway but we have a great setup here. Ben is determined to win the race this year. Last year Alex won and Ben has not forgotten that. Alex and Jacob will be hard to beat as they neither uses training wheels. Josiah could be a real contender too. He's zippy. Hmmmm...perhaps I should put the no-training wheels in their own class. But then Ben really wants to compete against them. Sigh, there is always next year.

Your crafty boy might like to help his frends use cardboard stock to decorate a motor card for their bikes. you would need cards and cloths pins.
I spy? who can build the highest card house.
The general rule for BDs should be 1 child per year of age, or they must be accompanied by an adult who knows quite indoor games.

OK, do we get to laugh if it does rain on your 15 guests? Privately, at least?

Well you know me: I no longer do home parties, per se, just because of the screaming, stress, but.... if I were that crazy mom of Kyra's friend, I'd look up some group craft activity. Or do a scavenger hunt or treasure hunt. Or do a project that decorates their bikes with non=permanent objects, like those things in their spokes that make noise. Or do shrinky dinks.

Or find some clear stuff you can make into instant clear ponchos and let them race in the rain. It's obviously what they are all coming for, besides the bubbles.

In a way I envy that you have the patience to have such a large kid's party. I get crabby with just 4 around the house when my friends come to dinner (then again, those kids both have ADD...)
