When do you know that sibling rivalry is out of control?

When your five year old complains that your two year old is going to the Dr. again and he hasn't had his check up yet. Yes, that was Ben's complaint of the day today. He's is usually not so competitive with Sarina. Surprisingly he has been more receptive to my putting Sarina to bed than I thought he would be. Especially since I rock with her and he has gotten too big for rocking although he still wants to give it a try every once in a while. He loves to play with her and was just up to ask if Sarina's nap is over. Ummmm...no she went down less then 30 minutes ago. One thing that he does that is both annoying and funny at the same time is run interference for Sarina. So when I tell Sarina to stop kicking the fridge or stove or wall, whatever she is kicking at the moment as she loves to kick things, he will jump between us, spread his arms wide and yell "Run baby, run for your life." Rather hilarious actually as she will take off running and laughing the whole way. Oh she thinks its so funny when I tell her no. She is such a two year old. She is the perfect sister for Ben. She lets him throw water on her without complaint. And he can dump all the water he wants on her head at bath time. Oh the joy! She loves it. They get a little too worked up in the bath. Last night they had bath together and Sarina was so worked up she wouldn't go to bed. I thought bath before bed was supposed to calm them!

Had a bit of a rough night last night. First Sarina would not sleep then she kept waking up. For the first time yesterday she stayed with a babysitter. Last night she kept crying in her sleep, which is not unusual but she would not let me touch her and kept hitting me. It was very distressful. Usually I comfort her with a simple touch. Finally I put her in her own bed and just closed the door. Oh the Mommy guilt that brought on but we both eventually slept.

Today we went off to the Dr. Lucky girl according to Ben. She is still not having regular poop. So we are going to try a dairy free diet for a while and see how that goes. Unfortunately I could not find soy yogurt at the local store. I will have to look at the bigger store I guess. The good news is that she has gained another half pound and she does not have an ear infection so I can stop worrying when she cries at night and pulls at her ear. How I wish it were that simple though.

How lucky Ben is to have a sister that likes his tricks.
I imagen Sarina may have felt abondoned being left with the baby sitter, however it is Nepal's fault for not letting her come home sooner and something all children go through (usually at a younger age).
I laughed out loud at Ben and his run baby game.
I could find Soy yoguart at the super walmart sometimes for anthony. Is there a vegan store near you? Have you tried goats milk?
love ya mom
