Life With Two Comedians

So Sarina has turned out to have quite the sense of humor. Aside from making faces at us during dinner and then giggling with delight from our reaction she also likes to declare that she has Ahchee and then laugh when we come sniff her butt. I suppose it is funny that you only need to say one word and people will get up and just sniff your butt. Too funny. She also finds kicking mommy when I change her diaper funny and poking her fingers in my mouth when I rock her hysterical. Such is the joys of two year old humor. Not that it gets much funnier when they are five. It's more verbal less slap stick but how many references to poopy diapers can you listen to before you lose your mind. That is if you're not another five year old. In which case it is endlessly funny.

Ben just came in and asked if anyone would like to do "The Cramp." This involves holding yourself in a contorted position and yelling "Oh the cramp. The cramp." Very funny humor to him. Better than the poopy diaper jokes. Although they seem to get whoops of laughter from his friends. Ben is working on his humor. We often have to discuss what is funny and what is not. For instance telling your two-year-old sister that she is going bye-bye and handing her her coat is not funny from Mom's point of view. Not when she howls until you put her coat on. That girl loves to go Bye-Bye.

I would also like someone to explain to Sarina that waking Mommy up at 3am to point out her eyes and nose is not funny. Not even close to amusing. No matter how cute Sarina's little giggle is Mommy does not like it. While I'm on the subject I would say that no behavior beyond sleeping soundly is funny to Mommy at 3am. I don't want to play kiss and giggle then. Oh what a grouch I am at 3am. Even when showered with wet little kisses on my cheeks. Ok, that melts my grumpy old heart a little bit but then I'm ready to go back to sleep, not play.

you're right wet kiss's and giggles only help for a short time, when you're jolted awake at 3am.
