Yesterday I got an update on where the Ministry is on signing files. They have signed about 30 files this week but have reviewed many more and recommended them for signing. I think that is how things are going to go. Initially they signed quite a few files at once and now they have to deal with all the parents coming in to finalize paperwork so I think they are pacing themselves. The pace is not bad considering in a good month they signed about 50 files. At this pace all the files should be signed by mid-february I think. No telling where we are in that but that's ok. Still expecting it to be a couple more weeks for us.
Once our file is signed we'll make plans for the trip. We think we will be gone about 3 weeks. We'll need to be in Nepal at least 10 business days and there is 3 days of travel coming and going so that is about 3 weeks. I remember last time we were really tired of living in a hotel room with a baby. Now we'll have two small children. Yikes. Some parents are staying at a resort that is said to be quite nice. Maybe we'll look at that. They have cabins I understand with kitchens. Having at least two rooms would be good I think. Plus they have a pool and 5 acres of land to run and play on. We'll need that I think for Ben.
On the way home we are thinking of stopping somewhere to take a breather from the travel and rest up before coming all the way home. It's all up in the air right now. Until we get the call. Ben is ready though. Everyday he asks when we are going. We bought him a globe so we could talk about the trip. He wanted to know where the boats and planes were on it.
BTW, I was wrong. The new Minister did not go on a whirlwind round the world trip as her first order of business. Not yet. She only went to India with the assistant minister.
