We've Got Art
Yesterday was a slow day so Ben wanted to do some painting. Recently I had bought some canvases to have him do hand and footprint art. I gave one to my mother for xmas and thought I would like some in funky colors for our living room so I bought neon and metallic nontoxic tempera paint. The idea was beautiful in its simplicity. I would lay down newspaper, put down the canvas, have Ben step one foot on the paint dish and then onto the canvas -- viola' instant modern art! Well as all good plans go it had a flaw, a major flaw. As soon as Ben stepped on the canvas he slid across and almost fell thereby producing buttprint art. Then he got the idea that it would make good skating so he got both feet full of paint and skated across the canvas. Needless to say that a good time was had by all but some of the ugliest art ever seen was created. I think only one footprint could be clearly seen in the whole picture. Plus he needed to be carried to the sink to be washed down.
Not to be deterred from our experiment Ben decided that driving trucks across the paint would make some interesting art and he was right. Here are some pictures of that. At one point he had a foot in there too just to help out.
Lovely! I think I still have paint on me.
