Who Moved The Omelet Station?!

And where the heck is Kiran with my decaf coffee and little pot of warm cream. Damn! We are back home and it is taking a little bit of adjusting For instance I can't just hang a sign on the door handle and have the housekeeping staff clean up. I really miss that.

We are settling in pretty well, if you call all of us being up at 5am back on schedule. Not my idea of back to normal really. God, I hope this child is not an early riser. Sarina continues to have problems sleeping. She falls asleep fine. In fact, Mark, Ben and Sarina were all asleep by 7pm last night. I carried the kids up to bed then went to sleep myself. Sarina started her crying jags by 2am so I took her to bed with me. The child is a wild sleeper though. She cries without waking and then thrashes and crawls and won't stop until I put my hand on her. Then just as I drop off to sleep again, no doubt dropping my hand off her, she starts to cry again. I gave her a tylenol as she has two teeth coming in and she slept for another 2 hours but started it all again. So I was up and then Ben was up and Mark had already gotten up. First Ben complained that it wasn't even morning as it was dark out and we encouraged him to go back to bed but he couldn't sleep so we all had breakfast.

They are happily playing away and it is only 7:30. WE picked up Molly from the vet yesterday morning. I do not even want to tell you what the bill was for 43 days of kenneling. Yow! Sarina is a little shy of Molly but is getting used to her. She keeps calling her and then when she comes she runs away crying. Not exactly bright of her. She also is getting used to the stairs after doing a header down them into the family room. We've tried to teach her to turn around but she has decided to sit on her bum and bump down which works too. Now we have to try her on the stairs up to the bedrooms. Is that the upstairs stairs. We have so many stairs. Well Ben survived and I'm sure she will too. I'm not fond of the idea of returning to gates everywhere. Plus Ben is sure to leave them open at some point.

It is taking some adjustment to get used to the snow that is left. I do miss the lovely warmth of Kathmandu plus all the greenery but my flowers are coming up and so it won't be too long now before it is green here too. I hope anyway. Took a little walk yesterday and Sarina seemed fine with the cold and with her brother dumping snow on her head. She'll have to get used to that. She is already learning to deal with him. She yelled "NO" at him yesterday and he is learning that he needs to make a trade with her rather than grabbing things away. He is sharing really well with her. Even insisting that they share the same waffle rather than each have their own. He is a really good big brother. He's really grown after this trip.

now, it starts where the days seem to go slow and the years fast. once Ben starts kindergarden it will seem as if the years fly by. enjoy every minute while you can and record the kids, show you can show them their early childhood.
Wish I had been able to do more of that.
love ya mom & dad

We thought Kyra was pretty grown up until she became a big sister and seems even more grown up. She still seems to think she can grab things away from her brother without consequences, however, and this after close to five years together. Sharing and feelings are hard lessons, apparently.
