WE Are Making Progress

Today we got the Ministry to give us a time to come in and sign our adoption decree. We wish it were sooner but it would allow us to leave for home before the end of next week. Good news to us. We are trying to get it moved up. The Embassy has been very helpful. I only hope they are not tired of me calling them. I wish they were allowed to accept gifts they have been that great.

Ok, you're not going to believe it but it is damned hot here now. Of course I only packed for cool weather. Plus I've run out of books to read and will need to go to Pilgrim's boolstore again. Darn! My other big complaint is I"M way past my hair appointment. Where in a land of black haired people do I find someone to do blond highlights! And quite frankly I don't think I've seen one Nepali woman with hair shorter than mid back here. Don't think I'll trust the beautician's to cut my hair. I've seen some damned bad haircuts on the men here. Including Mullets.

Sarina has become a little parrot, repeating our words and actions. Especially Bens. Everytime we head to the elevator Ben must run to the end of the hall and step on the brass plate at the bottom of the door jamb. He is a bit obsessive compulsive ou Ben. Now Sarina must do it. She is also a bit of a ham and likes to make faces at us at dinner. I think she learned this from the older children but it is cute. Except when she does raspberries with her mouth full. She loves to laugh and giggle and the most exciting thing about her, she tries to put her own clothes on. Oh glory, the Lord has sent me an angel.

Charyn and Mark,

Keep it up. Stay focused. Stay patient.

You are giving Sarina a new life - a new “birth”. And from what I've heard, giving “birth” isn’t easy.

But it’s always worth it.

All back here are very very proud of you both.

I can't wait to meet Sarina. She sounds like the perfect child, I'm jealous. I'm also glad you're almost set and coming home. I'm running out of fish food. Are you using the Ergo?

Sarina sounds like a smart little cookie. She's picking stuff up from her big brother already (though later on you wish she wouldn't...) it will be interesting to see what your pediatrician thinks: is she younger than the guesstimated age or was she having delays due to the children's home or shyness, etc. At any rate, looking forward to meeting her

Charyn can you send like a joint gift (fruit , candy, pizza ha ha ) to the department that has been helpfull?
I know that at gov. hospitals you can't accept gifts but a specific unit/department nonvalueable pesishable gift can be accepted or a card to the department/person of thanks for their good job (a copy of which goes into the emplyee file for evaluation time)
